Accounts Assistant

Key Role within the department to support and drive business decisions by ensuring the data posting quality is exceptional and to support any ad hoc reporting requirements.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Posting all month end journals covering accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, labour allocations each month
  • Support intercompany recharging
  • Checking accuracy of postings by department and coding against forecast
  • Balance sheet and P&L reconciliations and monthly movements
  • Analysis of supplier spend with trend analysis
  • High level metrics on performance of Pos
  • Raising all Sales Invoices and contracts database
  • Posting of metrics in Sage
  • Support the review of P&L postings

What You Will Bring To The Role

  • Proactive self starter
  • Ability to self check work with checks and balances
  • Attention to detail with high level of accuracy
  • Intermediate excel
  • Previous experience in a finance team accountable for Financial Journal postings
  • Previous reconciliation skills with the ability to compare data from multiple sources
  • Previous experience in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication skills when working across the company providing support and problem solving
  • Strong co-ordination and organisational skills to manage various stakeholders across the business

Other

This is primarily a work-from-home role, so you'll need your own reliable laptop, a strong fibre internet connection, a noise-cancelling headset, and a quiet workspace with backup power. To support you, we offer a monthly work-from-home and connectivity allowance.

Although remote, team collaboration is important. You’ll need to attend occasional in-person team meetings and training sessions—so ideally, you should be based in or around Johannesburg.

This is a 3-month contract role with the possibility of becoming permanent.
