Job Advert Summary

Our client, a luxury Rehab Clinic , is urgently looking for an experienced Group Bookkeeper for a permanent position at the client's facility in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town

Minimum Requirements

  • BComm or similar qualification (Articles will be advantageous)
  • At least 5 years’ experience as bookkeeper, ideal 8+ years
  • An experienced to senior bookkeeper person

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of invoices and credit notes
  • Ensure all invoicing up to date and captured sequentially
  • Ensuring client pocket money records are up to date and reconciled against forex received / ZAR paid out
  • Ensuring petty cash records maintained and reconciled with cash on hand
  • Management and processing of all payment records – EFT, card payments, etc.
  • Development and preparation of financial reports (profit and loss, expenditure, departmental/business units report and statistics etc.).
  • VAT Tax Type Reporting
  • Monthly management Accounts
  • Monthly forecasting reports
  • Bad Debt reports
  • Revenue comparison reports
  • Ensuring that all balance sheet reconciliations are produced on an accurate and timely basis to include bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors and inter-company account.
  • Liaising with other business units on overdue and general outstanding accounts. Particular emphasis on collaborating with the Dutch back office team to ensure that Dutch insurance client payments are processed in good order. This requires remote co-ordination and onsite follow up with clients.
  • Management of the debtor age analysis as per above (ensure maximum collections).
  • Management of trade creditors (processes and procedures).
  • Ensure customer accounts and vendor queries are resolved within agreed timelines (credit notes, invoicing reconciliations, customer credit limits, new accounts).
  • Asset management, listing and valuing. Assets register control, inventory oversight.
  • Knowledge of Zero Accounting Software and Microsoft Office Suite, and Sage/PaySpace advantageous
