Manual Tester – Team Leader

Lesaka Technologies' Consumer Division is looking for a detail-driven and experienced Manual Tester Team Leader to lead a team of QA professionals and ensure high-quality software releases. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in structured environments, enjoys coaching others, and has a strong understanding of the full software testing lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of manual testers with day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and performance support.
Plan and allocate testing tasks based on sprint or project requirements.
Develop, review, and maintain test plans, test cases, and scripts.
Oversee execution of various testing phases including functional, regression, integration, and UAT.
Track and report on testing progress, defect trends, and quality metrics.
Work closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts to ensure full requirements coverage.
Conduct regular test documentation reviews to ensure clarity, completeness, and accuracy.
Uphold QA standards and continuously drive improvement of testing processes and tools.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new QA team members.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
5+ years in software testing, with 1–2 years in a leadership or team lead role
Proven experience in manual testing of web and/or mobile applications
Skills & Competencies
Deep understanding of SDLC and STLC
Experience using JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar test and defect tracking tools
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban)
Basic exposure to automation tools and scripting
Experience in regulated industries such as fintech, banking, or healthcare

Test case coverage and execution rates
Defect leakage rate and test quality metrics
Team efficiency and delivery timeliness
Quality and accuracy of documentation and reports
