Manual Tester – Team Leader

Lesaka Technologies' Consumer Division is looking for a detail-driven and experienced Manual Tester Team Leader to lead a team of QA professionals and ensure high-quality software releases. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in structured environments, enjoys coaching others, and has a strong understanding of the full software testing lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of manual testers with day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and performance support.

• Plan and allocate testing tasks based on sprint or project requirements.

• Develop, review, and maintain test plans, test cases, and scripts.

• Oversee execution of various testing phases including functional, regression, integration, and UAT.

• Track and report on testing progress, defect trends, and quality metrics.

• Work closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts to ensure full requirements coverage.

• Conduct regular test documentation reviews to ensure clarity, completeness, and accuracy.

• Uphold QA standards and continuously drive improvement of testing processes and tools.

• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new QA team members.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

• 5+ years in software testing, with 1–2 years in a leadership or team lead role

• Proven experience in manual testing of web and/or mobile applications

Skills & Competencies

• Deep understanding of SDLC and STLC

• Experience using JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar test and defect tracking tools

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban)

• Basic exposure to automation tools and scripting

• Experience in regulated industries such as fintech, banking, or healthcare
