Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Howden Africa Compressors and Turbines, a division of Howden African (Pty) Ltd is looking for an experienced Engineer to provide a competent Turbomachinery engineer resource to external and internal clients. Provide specialist expertise in equipment vibration measurement and diagnostics. The position will be based in Sasolburg.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

• Select new equipmentto meet user specifications and ensure it is fit-for-purpose.
• Evaluate the condition of existing equipmentand create repair procedures and reports to produce a reconditioned product that meets standards.
• Review and approvedesigns, repair procedures, drawings, and other engineering tasksto ensure accuracy and prevent errors in production.
• Provide engineering solutionsto problems encountered by internal and external clients
• Develop and maintain client relationshipsto promote the product range and introduce enhancements to existing equipment.
• Supervision of the Drawings office to ensure all drawings are filed correctly and drawings are accurate
• Offer expert knowledgeon plant processes as applied to the Chart product range to ensure equipment operates according to design intentions.
• Support Project Managersto ensure all engineering aspects on projects are fulfilled according to Chart's standards
• Ensureall Quality procedures and standards are adhered to.
• Develop and update Engineering Department documentation(e.g., specifications, design manuals, welding procedures, software)
• Assisting Manufacturing section with Manufacturing process, material selection, and heat treatments procedures
  
  

Your Education Should Be…

• Formal tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering (HND, B-tech, BSc)
  
  

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

• 10 yrs experience in compressor and Turbine environment
• Experience in heavy engineering workshop practice
• Material selection experience
• Vibration course (level )2
• Fatigue course
• High level of written communication
• Compressor and Turbine performance evaluation
