Driver

We are currently looking for a Driver based in Johannesburg to join our dynamic team.

The driver role plays a critical customer experience and asset protection role within dealership operations, directly impacting vehicle delivery times, client satisfaction, and fleet compliance. The Driver is responsible for the safe, compliant, and timely transport of vehicles and company assets, ensuring premium presentation during customer handovers while protecting the dealership against transit risks and traffic infringements.

This is a process‑critical, service‑driven role requiring a deep understanding of road safety regulations, dealership logistics, and high-standard customer etiquette.

Vehicle Delivery & Collection

• Transport inventory between branches, detailing centers, and customer locations within agreed timelines.
• Load and execute delivery routes accurately the first time.
• Ensure all vehicle movements are logged digitally and physically timeously.
• Track trip statuses and report arrival times proactively to the sales or workshop teams.

Trip Delay & Issue Resolution

• Attend to vehicle breakdowns, route changes, or delivery delays within one hour.
• Correct transit errors and report route obstacles without delay.
• Escalate vehicle faults or mechanical issues proactively.

Asset Compliance & Safety

• Adhere to all national traffic regulations, company speed policies, and fleet scorecard requirements.
• Ensure all vehicle licensing, trade plates, and delivery documentation are:
  • Signed
  • Returned
  • Submitted before daily deadlines
• Maintain vehicle inspection readiness at all times.

Vehicle Records & Log Management

• Label and store vehicle check sheets accurately for audit and asset-tracking purposes.
• Maintain a daily updated digital and physical trip tracker.
• Ensure:
  • 100% accurate fuel logs
  • Proper key filing and vehicle retrieval systems
• Develop and maintain structured systems for vehicle transit documentation.

Internal Collaboration

• Act as liaison between:
  • Workshop Managers
  • Sales Executives
  • Customers and detailing teams
• Interpret and relay basic vehicle condition and fuel findings accurately.
• Support dealership operations when required (including temporary yard or detailing coordination cover if needed).

Operating Environment

• Dealership, Workshop, and Public Road Operations.
• Logistics-driven processes and strict delivery deadlines.
• High-volume vehicle movement environment.
• Compliance-sensitive and risk-exposed environment.
• Time-critical execution requirements.

• 2–3 years’ experience in professional driving or automotive dealer support roles.
• Corporate dealership and volume brand vehicle handling exposure (Advantageous).
• Valid, unblemished South African Driver’s License (Code 8 or 10) with a valid PrDP.
• Track record of meeting delivery timelines and maintaining accident-free records.
