We are currently looking for a Technician based in Johannesburg to join our dynamic team.
The Technician plays a mission-critical role within the workshop environment, ensuring every vehicle is serviced, repaired, and delivered according to manufacturer standards and Digi Cars’ high-performance expectations.
The Technician is responsible for fault diagnosis, service and repair execution, quality assurance, and strict adherence to OEM specifications, while maintaining workshop cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.

Service & Maintenance
- Conduct repairs and services according to OEM standards and specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance, testing, inspection, and diagnostic checks.
- Complete routine tasks including oil changes, fluid checks, tyre rotations, brake replacements, wheel bearing repairs, sensor replacements, etc.
- Advise customers by explaining repairs and automotive issues where required.
- Identify required parts and ensure correct orders are placed.
- Gain authorisation for additional repair work before proceeding.
- Maintain strict adherence to workshop policies and safety practices.
- Accurately complete job cards, documenting cause and correction.
- Ensure correct handling of old parts, including packaging or tagging for warranty.
- Ensure workshop cleanliness, safe operations, and proper handling of special tools.
- Use seat covers, fender covers, and protect customer's vehicle at all times.
- Record time worked accurately and immediately after job completion.
- Report defective equipment or tools to management.
- Maintain own full set of tools in good condition.
Quality Assurance
- Verify serviceability of vehicles through test drives and system updates.
- Adjust required controls and ensure all repairs meet manufacturer and Digi Cars standards.
Stock Control
- Maintain stock inventory for workshop usage.
- Order parts, verify receipts, and ensure adequate supplies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Matric and relevant technical/automotive qualifications (ESSENTIAL).
- Qualified Artisan: Trade Tested / Red Seal
- Recognised trade test certificate (Fitter & Turner, Electrician, Diesel Mechanic) N3–N6 technical diploma.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 3–4 years’ experience as a qualified technician with strong technical expertise.
- Experience within corporate dealerships and volume brands in a foreman role

- Conducts vehicle servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and workshop maintenance.
- Executes tasks timeously with high accuracy and quality assurance.
- Supports optimal daily workshop operations.

- Proficiency using diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to perform routine and complex repairs in a high-paced workshop.

R15 000 - R19 000 p/m with incentive and provident fund
