Mobile Test Automation Analyst

Introduction

We are an IT company looking for a Mobile Test Automation Analyst for a client based in Midrand

Start Date: 01 July 2026

Contract Duration: 12 months (renewable)

• Utilize the Perfecto Mobile cloud platform to design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for web, mobile, and IoT applications, ensuring high test coverage, scalability, and reliability.
• Perform end-to-end mobile testing on real devices (iOS and Android) using Perfecto, validating application functionality, usability, and cross-device compatibility across multiple environments.
• Integrate Perfecto Mobile with UFT (VBScript) and Rumba Framework to build and maintain robust automation suites for regression, sanity, and functional testing.
• Develop and maintain Perfecto Native scripts to support complex mobile workflows, including USSD flows, SMS notifications, and mobile transaction processes.
• Configure and support Perfecto Mobile Cloud infrastructure, including Mobile Cloud Manager (MCM), device cradles (HSS), and streaming servers for enterprise-level testing environments.
• Implement Continuous Testing and CI/CD pipelines by integrating Perfecto with Jenkins, enabling automated test execution, scheduling, and detailed reporting.
• Lead the implementation of synthetic monitoring solutions using Perfecto CQ Lab, Appium, Selenium, and UFT to simulate real-user transactions and ensure system availability and performance.
• Develop Appium-based automation frameworks integrated with the Perfecto Eclipse plugin for scalable mobile automation and monitoring of critical applications.
• Utilize Perfecto reporting and analytics tools for real-time execution tracking, performance analysis, and defect identification, improving overall testing efficiency.
• Support 24/7 SLA monitoring and reporting by integrating Perfecto with enterprise monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and HP BSM.
• Conduct cross-browser and cross-device validation to ensure consistent application behavior and performance across multiple platforms and environments.
• Play a key role in building and maintaining regression test suites for USSD and mobile platforms, ensuring new releases do not impact existing functionalities.
• Collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and enhance overall product quality.

Additional Tools & Daily Activities

• Execute and validate API testing using Postman and SOAP UI, ensuring seamless backend integration and service reliability.
• Connect and validate backend services using Putty (SSH) for server-level verification and troubleshooting.
• Design and implement BDD test scenarios using Cucumber (Gherkin), and write automation scripts integrated with Octane (ALM Octane) for test management and tracking.
• Run and monitor automation test suites via Jenkins pipelines, ensuring continuous integration and timely defect detection.
• Specifically work on USSD scenarios and projects, including automation, validation, and regression testing for telecom-based services.

1. Mobile Test Automation

• Hands-on experience with Perfecto Mobile
• Experience in Appium (Mobile automation)
• Knowledge of real device testing (iOS & Android)
• Ability to handle USSD and mobile transaction workflows

2. Automation Frameworks & Tools

• Good understanding of Selenium-based automation
• Ability to design scalable and reusable automation frameworks

3. API & Service Testing

• Postman
• SOAP UI
• Strong understanding of REST & SOAP APIs

4. CI/CD & DevOps Integration

• Practical experience with Jenkins
• Ability to run, schedule, and monitor automation pipelines
• Understanding of CI/CD workflows
