Construction Procurement Manager

We are seeking a skilled Construction Procurement Manager to manage the sourcing and purchasing of materials for our civil and building sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for negotiating with suppliers, reducing procurement costs, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials.
- Manage and maintain accurate purchasing records, including requisitions, orders, and delivery tracking.
- Prepare management reports and cost analyses; ensure invoices are properly allocated and tracked.
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate orders to replenish stock when necessary.
- Conduct supplier research through trade publications, online sources, and exhibitions.
- Evaluate and interview prospective suppliers to assess pricing, terms, and product quality.
- Develop comparison spreadsheets to support supplier and product decision-making.
- Oversee procurement execution plans, including purchasing, expediting, shipping, receipt, inspections, and logistics.
- Plan and manage material storage across various sites and company locations.
- Optimize material and supplier strategies (e.g., bulk purchasing vs. project-specific ordering).
- Lead or support cost-reduction initiatives.
- Handle supplier negotiations to achieve the best value for the company.
- Manage product returns, damage replacements, and warranty claims.
- Ensure the accuracy of purchase order comparisons and reports.
- Coordinate minimum and maximum stock levels with site and departmental stores.
- Maintain updated inventory records and report discrepancies between physical counts and system data.
- Compile reports on stock balances, pricing, and costs.
- Assist with Bill of Quantities (BOQ), pricing, and tender documentation where applicable.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Education: Qualification or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar role within the construction or civil engineering industry
- Strong negotiation and decision-making skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Sound knowledge of procurement practices, construction methods, and technical drawings
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Pastel
- Strong interpersonal and people management abilities
