We are a recruitment company seeking candidates on behalf of our client, a leading property management, construction, and development company based in East London, with branches in Port Elizabeth, Centurion, and Cape Town.
Our client is seeking a Fire Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations. The role also includes conducting inspections, supporting fire risk assessments, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, test, and repair fire protection systems, including sprinklers, fire alarms, and suppression systems
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure systems are operational and compliant
- Assist with fire risk assessments and site evaluations
- Troubleshoot and repair system faults
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
- Liaise with site teams, contractors, and stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records of work and maintenance activities
- Stay up to date with industry standards and technology
Requirements
Requirements
- 2–3 years’ experience in the fire protection industry
- N3 qualification in Plumbing or Electrical
- Knowledge of fire protection systems (sprinklers, alarms, suppression systems, pumps, electrical motors)
- Understanding of relevant codes, standards, and building regulations
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to sites
