Role Overview

A South African deep-tech company that builds and scales global businesses is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their Stellenbosch team. Using proprietary tracking technology, the business transforms traditional sports and leisure venues into high-tech, data-driven entertainment experiences for users worldwide.

Reporting directly to the Junior Financial Manager, you will take full ownership of the month-end close process up to the trial balance across multiple international entities. This is a highly commercial role where you will establish reliable management accounts, optimise cash flow, and translate financial data into actionable insights that drive how the business is run.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full month-end close process across multiple entities, including journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and trial balance preparation.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring accurate reconciliation to the general ledger.
• Monitor creditor ageing and provide payment forecasting to support commercial cash flow decisions and optimise supplier terms.
• Prepare comprehensive audit files, maintain working papers, and manage the external audit engagement.
• Review supplier invoice capture, coding, and reconciliations completed by the outsourced accounting provider.
• Prepare payroll reconciliations, validate departmental cost allocations, and oversee statutory payroll submissions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Completed SAIPA, SAICA, or CIMA articles.
• Commercial experience beneficial.
• Proven experience taking full ownership of the month-end close-up to trial balance across multiple entities.
• Experience with Xero or other cloud-based accounting systems
