Role Overview

A dynamic and growing player in the South African wine industry is seeking a Junior Cost Accountant to join their Stellenbosch-based finance team. This is an opportunity to join an industry leader known for its sustainable practices, gaining exposure to a diverse range of production environments from vineyard to customer.

Reporting to the Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for calculating accurate manufacturing costs to establish correct selling prices and gross margins. You will take ownership of stock intake accuracy, manage bulk inventory documentation, and assist with essential general accounting functions to support the wider business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review stock counts across production facilities, analyse variances, and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Update ERP production orders to ensure accurate stock items, costing, and quantity records.
  • Compile and maintain a Costing Masterfile to compare supplier pricing and support procurement decisions.
  • Analyse finished stock pricing and CoGS to ensure accurate price build-ups, margin calculations, and budget alignment.
  • Create purchase orders, match invoices for bulk deliveries, and process Fairtrade documentation and quarterly reporting data.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Financial Accounting Diploma or BCom Degree with 2–5 years of cost accounting experience
  • Professional registration with CIMA or SAIPA is beneficial
  • Previous working experience specifically within the wine industry
  • Hands-on experience working with ERP systems (experience with Business Central or WineMS is highly advantageous)

Salary & Benefits

  • R30,000 – R35,000 CTC per month
  • 18 days of annual leave
  • December/January shutdown period
