Introduction
The Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing category strategies to drive sales growth, market share and profitability. This role requires an in-depth analysis of consumer behavior, market trends and competitor activity to inform business decisions. The Trade Marketing Manager uses initiative to solve problems and effectively prioritises tasks to support the efficient economic performance of the company. They represent the COMPANY at our Client Head Offices to ensure the best outcomes for Famous Brands Retail within agreed parameters and budget guidelines
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides input for annual Budget, PF, Business plan, EOR's and presentations
- Monitor ROI on category initiatives.
- Develop category strategies to drive sales growth, market share and profitability.
- Analysis consumer insights, market trends and competitor activity.
- Conduct market analysis and research to identify opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activity and market share.
- Manage product portfolio to ensure optimal range and assortment.
- Identify opportunities for renovation and innovation.
- Develop pricing strategies to drive sales and profitability.
- Plan and execute promotional programmes.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external suppliers.
- Negotiate Supplier Agreements.
- Work closely with sales, marketing and supply chain teams.
- Ensure alignment with national sales strategies.
- Track and analyse category performance.
- Adjust strategies based on results.
- Listing & Pricing Management:
- Negotiate National Trading Terms within designated territory/Customer base - HOUSEBRANDS
- Negotiate Price increases and promotional deals, promo grids.
- Listing of New Retail HB products with Buyers in all categories within designated territory
- Listing of Retail products with Online Customers- Amazon; Takealot
- Liaise with Manufacturing/Quality control to resolve related customer complaints
- Assists department with monthly financial pack, comments & review
- Retail Trade visits with FB/Sales agent/Brands2Africa; Smollan, Daymon
- Able to develop relationships with all internal stakeholders to ensure new products are developed and listed according to plan.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Formal Education
- Appropriate Marketing/ B Comm in a corporate environment
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years' experience within the FMCG market specifically dealing with Retail Chain stores.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and meet sales targets applicable
- Must be computer literate - MS Excel, Word, Power Point
- Report creation, management and improvement.
