SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled

Civil Engineer with strong

PLS-CADD experience to join a specialist engineering consultancy delivering complex power and energy infrastructure projects across Africa. This role is ideal for a technically driven professional with experience in transmission and distribution line design, overhead line engineering, and multidisciplinary project coordination.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, and execution of high-voltage infrastructure projects, working alongside experienced engineering professionals in a dynamic and solutions-focused environment.

POSITION INFO

• Design and develop transmission and distribution line projects using PLS-CADD
• Perform route selection, line profiling, tower spotting, and clearance analysis
• Conduct structural and civil design calculations for overhead line infrastructure
• Prepare technical drawings, reports, specifications, and construction documentation
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, and project engineering teams
• Ensure designs comply with Eskom, IEC, and relevant international standards
• Assist with site inspections, feasibility studies, and project implementation support
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles
• Support project delivery from concept through to detailed design and construction

Minimum Requirements

• BEng/BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering
• 3+ years’ experience in transmission or distribution line engineering
• Proficient in PLS-CADD and related transmission line design tools
• Experience with overhead line design and utility infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of relevant design standards and engineering practices
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams

Advantageous

• Experience with PLS-POLE or PLS-TOWER
• Professional registration or candidacy with ECSA
• Exposure to renewable energy or utility-scale power projects
