POSITION INFO

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Maths and Science
• N2 qualification in Civil Engineering

Preferred Qualification

• N3 qualification in Civil Engineering

Minimum Experience

• 2-3 years’ experience in a technical field
• General plumbing experience
• General knowledge of water and sewer pipelines
• Ability to work with hand tools

Key Outputs

Reporting to the Artisan Plumber the appointee will:

• Assisting with water pipeline maintenance
• Supporting repair teams in fixing infrastructure faults
• Participating in field inspections to identify network issues
• Assisting with plumbing installations
• Supporting operational maintenance procedures
• Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on various sites
• Ensure that relevant defects and work requests are attended to promptly to minimise outage time
• Perform preventative maintenance function
• Ensure all safe conditions before commencing any work on site.
• Report accidents/defects
• Assist with maintaining a good all round safety programme and good housekeeping

Key Competencies

• Basic knowledge of safety regulations
• Valid unendorsed Driver’s license
• Knowledge and ability to repair water pipes and fittings
• Knowledge and ability to work with hand tools
• Work overtime as requested
• Knowledge of the OHS Act
