Diesel mechanic - compressor repairs / engine overhauls

We are looking for an experienced, pro-active, high energy mechanic to work on our compressors and other equipment.

RED SEAL Diesel Mechanic is advantageous, aswell as references with contact details

a minimum of 8 years experience, as well experience on diesel compressors is a pre-requisite

Must be a perfectionist by nature, methodic, organised and insistant on a clean, neat working environment. Attention to detail when stripping, cleaning, repairing and re-assembling is essential.

Repairs, fault finding, maintenance of Diesel Air Compressors:

Air end and engine servicing

Fault finding on air and safety systems

All repair related functions

Complete engine overhauls

Repairs to drill rigs such as Furukawa Drill Rig

Must have experience in the following engines: CAT, Cummins, Deutz, Perkins and John Deere.

Knowledge of Atlas Copco, Sullair, Ingersol Rand compressors is essential

Knowledge of air ends is essential

The ability to fault find and repair instead of replace is critical.

Experience and knowledge of pneumatics, crawler rigs an advantage

Valid drivers licence with own transport.

Basic auto electrical knowledge, as well as basic welding ability.

Punctual, honest, reliable and self-driven.

Must be of sober habits

Overtime may apply as needed

Must be able to resolve all mechanical issues and skilled in fault finding

Must have the mindset and know how of repairing vs replacing
