The Tax Administrator will be responsible for managing tax compliance for a portfolio of clients, ensuring all submissions and registrations with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) are completed accurately and on time. The role involves preparation and submission of tax returns, handling SARS queries, and maintaining tax records for individuals, companies, and trusts.
- Prepare and submit Income Tax returns (ITR12, ITR14, IT12T).
- Prepare provisional tax returns (IRP6).
- Submit VAT returns (VAT201).
- Assist with PAYE / EMP501 reconciliations.
- Monitor and manage tax deadlines for all clients.
- SARS Administration
- Manage client SARS eFiling profiles.
- Handle SARS queries, verifications, audits, and objections.
- Apply for Tax Clearance Pins and certificates.
- Client Administration
- Maintain tax records and supporting documentation.
- Communicate with clients regarding tax submissions and deadlines.
- Assist with tax calculations and reconciliations.
- Internal Support
- Assist accountants and tax practitioners with compliance matters.
- Keep up to date with changes in South African tax legislation.
- Maintain tax compliance schedules and filing systems.
- Typical roles also require preparing and submitting income tax, VAT and provisional tax returns and managing SARS queries and deadlines.
- National Diploma or equivalent
- 1 – 3 Years experience as a Tax Administrator
