SUMMARY

Our client based in Benoni is looking for a Motor Fitter / Electric Motor Fitter to assemble, install, maintain, repair, and test electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, and related rotating equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

POSITION INFO

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Trade Test Certificate as Motor Fitter, Electrical Fitter, or equivalent artisan qualification.
• 3–5 years’ experience in motor fitting or rotating equipment maintenance.
• Experience with AC/DC motors, pumps, and industrial machinery preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electric motors and rotating equipment.
• Strip, clean, rewind, reassemble, and test motors.
• Perform bearing replacements, shaft alignment, balancing, and vibration checks.
• Install and commission motors and mechanical equipment.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Use measuring instruments and workshop tools safely and accurately.
• Maintain maintenance records and job reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
• Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs when required.
