SUMMARY

An established food distribution company is seeking an all-round Shop Assistant / Cashier to support daily shop operations. The successful candidate will assist with merchandising, customer service, sales, cashier duties, and maintaining a clean and professional retail environment.

• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Good time management skills
• Willing to work Saturdays and public holidays when required

Key Responsibilities

• Merchandise products while adhering to food safety standards
• Assist customers professionally and handle queries or complaints effectively
• Follow and maintain health and safety regulations
• Participate in monthly and ad-hoc stock takes
• Provide support across all shop departments when needed
• Perform cashier duties, including processing cash and card payments and cashing up
• Complete weekly customer calling sheets
• Assist with sourcing new customers to increase sales and stock turnover

Qualifications & Skills

• Matric certificate
• SAP experience advantageous
• CISTECH experience advantageous

Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years’ FMCG experience
• Previous cashier experience essential
• Seafood industry knowledge advantageous
