Requirements

• BSc/BEng/B-Tech in Civil Engineering.
• ECSA registration as Professional (Pr Tech Eng. or Pr. Eng).
• At least 8 years’ relevant technical experience required.
• At least 5 years’ supervisory / management experience required.
• Computer literacy: MS Office.
• Valid driver’s licence (Code EB/B).
• Physically fit and able bodied.

Key Performance Areas

• Develop and monitor long-term plans and programmes for Zone

Management, Leak detection, Springs water and independent

meter audits.

• Monitor and evaluate the progress in implementation of the

WC/WDM Strategy.

• Implement civil engineering capital and operational projects of

varying nature, scale and budget for purposes of WC/WDM.

• Develop and maintain the treated effluent masterplan for

non-potable reuse.

• Develop and maintain the District Metered Area plan.
• Develop technical specifications and tender documentation for

WC/WDM technical programmes.

• Manage and liaison with all relevant stakeholders (internal and

external) towards meeting the objective of Water Demand

Management and Water Conservation.

• Assume responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of

asset management plans.

• Assume the responsibilities of Contract management and Project

management.

• Develop and implement business plans and processes for Water

Demand Management and Operational Implementation.

• Provide input into various policies and by-laws to promote the

objectives of Water Demand Management.

• Manage staff, including graduates and students.
