POSITION INFO

A well-established education-focused organisation is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accountant to oversee the full finance function.

This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional with strong bookkeeping and accounting experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys partnering with operational teams to drive financial efficiency and control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full finance function for the campus
• Partner with campus leadership on financial management and expenditure control
• Manage annual operational and capital budget processes
• Analyse monthly management accounts and report financial findings
• Monitor daily income and expenditure against budgets
• Oversee procurement, accounts payable, and supplier processes
• Manage debtors, collections, and payment follow-ups
• Ensure discounts, bursaries, and financial processes are accurately applied
• Prepare monthly reconciliations, journals, and month-end reporting
• Review and submit accurate billing information
• Monitor event and activity budgets
• Review payroll information and discuss findings with management
• Provide financial guidance and support to internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Train staff on finance-related processes where required

Completed Matric

Bookkeeping or Accounting qualification advantageous

7 - 10 years’ experience in a finance or accounting environment

Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge

Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills

Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and budgeting

Strong understanding of accounts payable and debt management processes
