Driver / Recon Clerk

Job Advert Summary

The Driver / Recon Clerk is responsible for coordinating vehicle reconditioning processes, vehicle movements, licensing administration, and ensuring vehicles are prepared to dealership standards.

The role includes inspecting incoming stock, arranging servicing and repairs, coordinating deliveries and collections, and maintaining effective communication with internal departments, suppliers, and clients.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric/ Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a Driver within a Vehicle Dealership (Advantageous)
• Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in verifying orders
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks
• Clear criminal record

Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming vehicles and report any damages or discrepancies.
• Coordinate vehicle servicing, body repairs, valets, roadworthy tests, and manufacturer compliance checks.
• Ensure all vehicle documentation, handbooks, licensing, permits, and registration processes are completed accurately.
• Arrange and coordinate vehicle deliveries, collections, and driver schedules.
• Maintain control of vehicle keys and stock movement records.
• Assist workshop staff with minor repairs, PDI’s, and vehicle cleaning when required.
• Ensure all vehicles are kept clean, secure, and damage-free while under driver control.
• Maintain professional conduct, good timekeeping, and compliance with company policies and road regulations.
• Liaise with clients, transporters, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction.
