SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Hospital Engineering Manager to lead and manage all engineering, maintenance, infrastructure, and technical services within a healthcare facility. The successful candidate will ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all hospital engineering systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, medical gas, water, and backup power systems.

This role is critical to maintaining a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and engineering standards. Experience in asset management, preventative maintenance, OHS compliance, utilities management, and infrastructure project execution is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain all hospital engineering systems and infrastructure.
- Lead preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with the OHS Act, healthcare regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas, fire protection, and backup power systems.
- Manage contractors, service providers, and technical staff.
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets and capital expenditure plans.
- Lead infrastructure upgrades, refurbishments, and engineering projects.
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of critical hospital systems.
- Maintain engineering documentation, maintenance records, and compliance reports.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
- Support hospital accreditation and audit processes.
Minimum Requirements:
- BEng / BSc / BTech / National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in facilities or engineering management.
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, generators, medical gas systems, and building services.
- Knowledge of the OHS Act and healthcare compliance standards.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams and contractors.
- Computer literacy and CMMS experience (SAP PM advantageous).
- Valid driver’s license.
