About The Role
My client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a DebiCheck Manager to take full ownership of its authenticated collections capability across both debtor and creditor bank functions. This specialist role is critical to ensuring compliant, efficient, and customer‑friendly mandate management and collections, supporting multiple business units including Savings, Transact, Credit, and Insurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the DebiCheck strategy and product roadmap.
- Manage debtor bank operations: customer mandate approvals, lifecycle management, and dispute resolution.
- Oversee creditor bank operations: mandate registration, collection execution, and optimisation of success rates.
- Lead implementation with ACH providers and ensure PASA certification.
- Establish operational processes, reconciliation, and exception handling.
- Ensure compliance with PASA Authenticated Collections rules and SARB requirements.
- Represent the institution in PASA forums and industry working groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Commerce, or Information Systems.
- 5+ years’ experience in South African payments, with direct DebiCheck expertise.
- Deep knowledge of TT1, TT2, TT3 transaction types and mandate lifecycle.
- Experience with PASA rules, ACH providers, and debit order abuse mitigation.
- Strong process management, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Bilingual (English & Afrikaans).

- Must be Criminal Clear
- Must reside in the Greater Cape Town area or be willing to relocate.
