SUMMARY
A luxury hotel in Cape Town is seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead all aspects of the property's operations.
This role is suited to a mature hospitality professional with a proven track record of successfully managing large hotels with 60+ rooms. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, guest satisfaction, financial performance, and team development while maintaining the highest hospitality standards.
The ideal candidate will be seeking a long-term opportunity and must demonstrate career stability, strong leadership skills, and a hands-on management approach.
POSITION INFO
REQUIREMENT
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a General Manager within a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment
- Proven experience managing hotels with 60+ rooms essential
- Strong operational experience across Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage departments
- Proven track record of successful hotel management and operational leadership
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, stock control, and financial controls
- Experience driving occupancy, guest satisfaction, and profitability
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving ability
- Stable employment history with demonstrated longevity in previous roles
- Professional, hands-on, and guest-focused approach
- Own vehicle essential
- Ability to build and lead high-performing teams
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all hotel operations and departmental performance
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences and service delivery standards
- Manage Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, and Administration departments
- Drive operational efficiency, profitability, and revenue growth
- Manage budgets, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost controls
- Oversee stock control systems and financial compliance
- Lead, mentor, and develop departmental managers and staff
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and hospitality standards
- Monitor guest feedback and implement continuous improvements
- Build a positive team culture focused on service excellence and accountability
- Maintain the property's reputation and market position
