The Sales Manager – FMCG & Foodservice, is responsible for driving sales growth across FMCG wholesale and foodservice channels, including restaurants, catering, hospitality, and related markets in the Northwest region.
The role focuses on expanding market distribution, managing key accounts, and leading a sales team to achieve volume, revenue, and gross profit (GP%) targets.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12
- Marketing, Business, or related qualification.
- Minimum 5+ years’ FMCG sales experience, preferably with Foodservice exposure.
- Proven track record of achieving/exceeding sales targets.
- Experience managing key accounts, distributors, and wholesalers.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Leadership and team development ability.
- Strong FMCG and foodservice market knowledge.
- Commercial and financial acumen.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Computer literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Valid, unendorsed driver’s licence.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including long distances and overnight stays.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies to grow FMCG and foodservice channels.
- Achieve revenue, volume, and GP% targets (monthly, quarterly, annually).
- Expand market share and secure new business within wholesale, restaurants, catering, hospitality, and distribution sectors.
- Manage and grow key customer relationships, including pricing, contracts, and service levels.
- Lead, coach, and develop the sales team to achieve KPIs and performance targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing to identify opportunities.
- Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports to ensure profitability and expense control.
- Work closely with marketing on promotions and campaigns.
