SUMMARY
Job Title: QC Inspector
Location: Germiston
Role Overview
Ensure that all incoming materials, components, and assemblies received from suppliers meet the organisation’s quality, dimensional, and specification requirements before being released into production. Incoming Inspectors act as the first line of defence against defective materials entering the manufacturing process, protecting product quality and production flow.

Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma / Matric (required).
- Technical/Mechanical qualification or Manufacturing/QC-related diploma preferred.
- Additional training in quality inspection, metrology, or engineering principles is beneficial.
- 3+ years of experience in quality inspection, incoming materials inspection, or manufacturing QC.
- Strong experience using measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for recording inspection data.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problemâsolving skills.
- Solid understanding of geometric tolerances and quality standards.
- Effective communication skills for crossâdepartment and supplier interactions.
- Ability to work independently in a fastâpaced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections on incoming parts, assemblies, and components using tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and templates.
- Approve or reject incoming materials by confirming conformance to specifications.
- Examine components for defects in materials, workmanship, damage in transit, alignment, fit, and functional accuracy.
- Record inspection results in logbooks, inspection reports, and digital systems (ERP/MRP).
- Initiate Nonconforming Material Reports (NCRs) for rejected or defective materials.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming quality issues and update nonâconformance logs.
- Communicate discrepancies, defects, or supplier quality issues to procurement, engineering, and production teams.
- Provide input on drawing reviews for dimensions, tolerances, and quality criteria.
- Support corrective actions by providing feedback during internal and external CAR processes.
- Tag, label, quarantine, or release material based on inspection results.
- Maintain organisation of incoming inspection areas and ensure proper handling of inspected goods.
- Ensure all inspection processes comply with regulatory, customer, and company quality standards.
- Suggest process improvements for inspection workflows and manufacturing processes.
