Overview

Our client, a leading supplier of premium coffee solutions, frozen beverages, and related product ranges, is seeking a dynamic and driven Sales Consultant to join their growing team.

This role is focused on generating new business opportunities and building long-term customer relationships through product demonstrations, tastings, and consultative selling. Successful candidates will undergo comprehensive training on the company's product portfolio and sales processes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • 3+ years sales experience
  • Hospitality, coffee, beverage, or related industry experience - advantageous
  • Computer literate - MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Good knowledge of the Cape Town market
  • Ability to communicate professionally in English - Afrikaans (advantageous)
  • Strong customer service orientation

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Generate and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory
  • Conduct client visits, product demonstrations, and tastings to showcase the company's product offerings
  • Convert qualified leads into long-term customers
  • Identify additional sales opportunities during client visits and market engagements
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of prospective customers

Sales & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable solutions
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process
  • Represent the company professionally and positively in the marketplace

Product Demonstrations & Trials

  • Conduct product tastings and demonstrations for potential customers
  • Coordinate and manage free trial installations where applicable
  • Follow up on trial customers and convert opportunities into sales

Market Awareness

  • Remain alert to market trends, competitor activity, and new business opportunities
  • Develop a strong understanding of the local trading environment and customer base

Training & Development

  • Participate in structured product and sales training programmes
  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of the company's coffee, frozen beverage, and retail product ranges
  • Collaborate with experienced sales consultants across multiple branches during the onboarding period

Travel Requirements

  • Extensive travel may be required during the initial training period
  • Consultants will spend time in various branches learning from experienced team members
  • Monthly travel to outlying areas within approximately a 400km radius of the branch may be required, depending on business needs
