About the Role
Tactical Security Services is seeking a professional, experienced, and highly alert CCTV Controller to join our operations team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring CCTV systems, managing incidents, communicating with response teams, and ensuring the effective operation of the Control Room environment. The ideal candidate must be able to work under pressure, remain calm during emergencies, and maintain a high level of attention to detail at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV cameras and surveillance systems continuously.
- Identify, report, and escalate suspicious or criminal activities.
- Dispatch and communicate with reaction officers and operational teams.
- Maintain accurate incident logs, occurrence books, and reporting records.
- Monitor alarm activations and respond according to company procedures.
- Ensure all Control Room procedures and protocols are followed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, management, and emergency services.
- Conduct regular equipment and system checks to ensure functionality.
- Assist with investigations by reviewing CCTV footage and compiling reports.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism within the Control Room environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the private security industry as a CCTV Controller / Control Room Operator.
- Minimum 2 years experience in the security industry as a supervisor.
- Matric certificate essential.
- PSIRA Grade B registration essential.
- NQF Level 6 Diploma essential in policing/security management or relevant qualification.
- CCTV / Control Room qualification essential.
- Strong understanding of CCTV monitoring systems and Control Room procedures.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email communication.
- Ability to work shifts, under pressure, and in high-stress situations.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent observation skills.
- Clear criminal record and professional integrity.
- Own reliable transport.
Advantageous
- Experience working with multiple CCTV and alarm monitoring platforms.
- Knowledge of incident reporting and operational escalation procedures.
- Experience within a fast-paced armed response environment.
Working Hours
Shift-based position, including weekends and public holidays as operationally required.
