Key Roles and Responsibilities: Workplace Learning & Programme Coordinator
The Workplace Coordinator will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with industry partners to secure workplace learning opportunities for UniCollege students. The role focuses on facilitating Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and ensuring that students successfully complete the workplace component of their qualifications.
Industry Engagement & Placement Coordination
Proactively identify, engage, and build relationships with companies, organisations, and industry stakeholders to secure workplace placement opportunities for UniCollege students.
Promote UniCollege programmes and students to industry partners to support meaningful workplace learning opportunities.
Coordinate the placement of students into suitable workplace environments aligned with their field of study.
Maintain and expand a database of industry partners and placement opportunities.
Employer Liaison & Support
Serve as the primary point of contact between UniCollege and host companies for all workplace learning matters.
Provide guidance to employers regarding logbook requirements, workplace learning objectives, and student performance monitoring.
Assist host companies in understanding their role in supervising and mentoring students during their workplace learning period.
Maintain ongoing communication with employers to ensure a positive and productive workplace learning experience.
Student Support & Guidance
Prepare students for workplace learning by providing guidance on expectations, professional conduct, and programme requirements.
Assist and guide students in the completion of workplace logbooks and documentation in line with programme requirements.
Monitor student progress during workplace placements and provide support where challenges arise.
Ensure students submit completed logbooks and required documentation accurately and within prescribed deadlines.
Monitoring & Compliance
Track and monitor all student placements to ensure compliance with programme and accreditation requirements.
Ensure that all workplace learning documentation, including logbooks and evaluation forms, are completed correctly and submitted timeously.
Work closely with Programme Coordinators and Academic staff to ensure workplace learning aligns with programme outcomes.
Administration & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of student placements, employer partnerships, and workplace learning outcomes.
Prepare placement reports and provide feedback to academic management on industry engagement and student performance.
Assist in identifying opportunities to expand UniCollege’s workplace learning partnerships.
Institutional Collaboration
Collaborate with Programme Coordinators, Academic staff, and management to support the successful implementation of workplace learning components across programmes.
Represent UniCollege professionally when engaging with industry partners and stakeholders.
The individual will also be expected to assist with Academic Programme Coordinator duties will provide academic leadership and operational oversight for assigned programme(s), ensuring quality delivery, compliance, and industry relevance.
· A relevant post-school qualification (minimum NQF Level 5).
· Strong organisational and administrative skills.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
· Confident computer skills (Microsoft Office, online systems, etc.).
· Ability to work independently and take initiative in a developing role.
· Experience in recruitment in the education and training environment as well as programme coordination will be advantageous
