Operations Engineer - (CI/CD, AWS, Azure)

We are seeking an experienced Operations Engineer (Expert) to join a global enterprise technology environment focused on large-scale cloud, infrastructure, and DevOps operations. The role specialises in managing, automating, and optimising complex production systems across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of critical enterprise applications.

This is a senior technical operations role with strong emphasis on DevOps engineering, automation, and production stability in mission-critical systems.

Essential Skills

• Strong Linux / Unix systems administration experience
• CRON jobs and Unix filesystem management
• Docker and Kubernetes container orchestration
• AWS EKS / ECS experience
• Scripting (Shell / Batch)
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or Jenkins)
• Cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
• Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or Ansible)
• Monitoring tools (AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Datadog, CloudWatch)
• Log management tools (ELK Stack, Splunk, Nagios)
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
• Performance tuning of systems and infrastructure
• Security practices (keys, certificates, secrets management)

Advantageous Skills

• Quarkus / Microprofile containers
• AWS Batch or scheduling tools
• Nginx or webserver administration
• Advanced Kubernetes/Docker experience
• ITSM tools (BMC Remedy or similar)
• Database knowledge (DB2, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DocumentDB)
• Java/Spring Framework exposure
• IT service continuity management
• Experience in regulated enterprise environments
• Familiarity with enterprise operational frameworks (e.g. PRIME-style processes)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support infrastructure and operational systems in an Agile/DevOps environment
• Build and maintain automation for infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and environment management
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Automate infrastructure patching, upgrades, and maintenance tasks
• Collaborate with QA and development teams to create reliable and scalable test and production environments
• Ensure systems are secure and resilient against cybersecurity threats
• Provide Tier-3 operational support and resolve escalated production incidents
• Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions
• Analyse system metrics to improve reliability, availability, and performance
• Manage middleware components such as web servers, application servers, and container platforms
• Improve integration between systems, services, and teams
• Plan and execute system upgrades and production enhancements
• Contribute to continuous improvement of DevOps and operational processes

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering
• Strong experience in Agile and DevOps environments
• Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale production systems
