SUMMARY
An established organisation within the steel manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced
ISO Documents Controller & SHE Officer to join its team. This is a critical role responsible for maintaining Quality Management Systems, overseeing document control functions, supporting Health, Safety and Environmental compliance, and coordinating internal and external audits.

Please note: This is not a junior position.
Applicants must have proven experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, auditing, document control, and SHE administration within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015)
- Assist in maintaining and continuously improving Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) systems, processes, and standards.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 accreditation requirements, statutory regulations, and company standards.
- Maintain, update, revise, and improve internal systems and procedures to meet certification body requirements.
- Ensure all systems and procedures are in place to satisfy customer requirements and audit standards.
- Follow up on corrective actions relating to identified non-conformities.
- Verify the closure of non-conformities with certification bodies where applicable.
- Coordinate and arrange quarterly Management Review Meetings.
- Monitor and maintain ongoing compliance with the Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
- Ensure KPI targets are achieved through effective planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Manage internal and external audit schedules and related activities.
- Assist departments in maintaining up-to-date work instructions aligned with quality and business improvement initiatives.
Health, Safety & Environmental (SHE)
- Capture IODs on the RMA system and ensure all supporting documentation is correctly loaded.
- Participate in HIRA inspections together with the Health & Safety Manager.
- Review and maintain records for SHE Representatives, Fire Fighters, First Aiders, and Chemical Controllers.
- Compile and maintain minutes for SHE and committee meetings.
- Monitor and maintain First Aid stock levels.
- Track and maintain calibration certificates for Alco Blow equipment.
- Update and maintain all SHE documentation and filing systems.
- Conduct inductions for new employees and contractors.
- Conduct visitor and contractor inductions when the Health & Safety Manager is unavailable.
- Ensure SHE notice boards remain updated with relevant information.
Document Control
- Assist with the preparation of Data Books.
- Scan, save, and maintain MPIs, Weld Maps, Paint Maps, and related documentation.
- Maintain and archive all Material Certificates.
- Prepare MPI documentation as required.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- ISO 9001:2015 Qualification / Certification.
- Internal Auditing Course – ISO 9001:2015.
- Lead Auditor Course – ISO 9001:2015.
- Qualification or experience in Quality Assurance.
- Health & Safety Certification (NOSA and/or SAMTRAC).
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong report writing capability.
Experience
- Minimum 4–5 years' relevant experience.
- Previous experience within the steel manufacturing industry is essential.
- Proven experience in Quality Management Systems, auditing, SHE administration, and document control.
