POSITION INFO

We are seeking a seasoned HVAC Project Manager to spearhead the end-to-end execution, coordination, and delivery of large-scale HVAC projects across Ghana. In this role, you will champion diverse portfolios spanning commercial, industrial, hospitality, healthcare, institutional, and mixed-use developments.

From initial design coordination and procurement through to installation, commissioning, and final handover, you will ensure all projects land safely, on time, and within budget.

Core Technical Expertise

The ideal candidate brings robust technical and project management mastery in:

  • Large Unitary DX Systems
  • VRF / VRV Systems
  • Chilled Water Systems
  • Ventilation and Air Distribution Systems
  • Building Management Systems (BMS) integration

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Site Coordination

  • Drive multiple HVAC projects simultaneously from initiation straight through to successful completion.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, manpower deployment, procurement timelines, and budgets.
  • Interface seamlessly with consultants, architects, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise site engineers, supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and civil teams.
  • Attend site meetings and deliver transparent project progress reports to management and clients.

Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance

  • Rigorously review HVAC designs, shop drawings, and technical submittals.
  • Supervise the physical installation of chilled water systems, VRF/VRV systems, large packaged/unitary systems, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, and controls.
  • Troubleshoot and actively resolve technical or construction-related challenges on-site.
  • Guarantee all installations rigidly comply with project specifications, local regulations, and relevant standards.

Commercial, Commissioning & Compliance

  • Assist with procurement planning, technical evaluations of equipment, and subcontractor selections.
  • Review quotations, variation orders, and overall project cost implications.
  • Monitor project financial performance to identify and execute cost-saving opportunities.
  • Direct testing, balancing, commissioning, and system performance verification activities.
  • Secure all essential project documentation, O&M manuals, and client handover procedures.
  • Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, promoting safe work practices and adherence to applicable ASHRAE guidelines across all sites.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Professional engineering certification is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in HVAC project execution and management, with a track record of handling medium to large projects.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of HVAC design principles and installation practices. Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and international best practices.
  • Software Skills: Highly proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Project or Primavera, and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Revit and HVAC load calculation software is an advantage.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
