The Role: Commercial Service Lead
The purpose of the role is to drive the growth, profitability, and operational excellence of the service portfolio. The main focus areas involve ensuring customer retention, expanding the existing portfolio, securing new service contracts, and aligning day-to-day service delivery with the commercial strategy. This involves working closely with operations, sales, and customer teams to maximize revenue and elevate customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, prepare, and negotiate commercial offers and service agreements with clients while protecting depot revenue.
- Maintain and elevate customer relations through regular interaction, proactive feedback management, and resolving claims and complaints.
- Analyze current, past, and potential new customers to identify expansion opportunities and map out key contact persons.
- Track contract profitability, monitor the sales pipeline, and report on contract status, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
- Maintain vigilance to detect early warning signs of dissatisfaction or contract cancellation, and identify potential contractual risks to develop mitigation plans.
- Ensure strict compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal company policies related to commercial contracts, and inspect completed service work to meet standards.
About You
- Proven track record in contract sales, commercial negotiations, or business development.
- Tertiary qualification, preferably in Business Management, Sales, or a related field.
- Strategic thinking, strong commercial awareness, basic knowledge of sales processes, negotiation tactics, and deal-closing capabilities.
- High level of attention to detail during contract reviews, basic knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, and close adherence to corporate procedures.
- Strong project management abilities alongside excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Driven by a high level of integrity, dependability, a strong sense of urgency, and a results-oriented approach.
- Resilient and highly adaptable when operating within fast-paced business environments.
