The role

At Nile, we see roles as an opportunity for personal development. As our business grows, so will the scope of your role. Today, our team requires a Snr Procurement Manager report directly to one of our Directors. The successful applicant will take ownership of the following functions:

  • Cultivating and maintaining strong, strategic relationships with key farmers.
  • Collaborating with the software engineering team to drive improvements in sourcing systems and processes.
  • Working closely with Nile’s logistics team to enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Developing management metrics and reporting to rigorously track the performance of the sourcing function.
  • Managing a team of farmer relationship managers, with each specializing in a specific fresh produce category or growing region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in fresh produce procurement, ideally gained at retailers, exporters, aggregators, or traders.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team.
  • A quick learner, capable of adapting swiftly to the complexity of a hyper-growth start-up environment.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems in a pragmatic way.
  • Experience with the implementation of new supply chain systems and/or processes.
