Credit Note Specialist

Role purpose
- To ensure the accurate, timely, and policy-compliant processing, approval, and reporting of credit notes within the monthly billing cycle.
- The Credit Note Specialist supports revenue assurance, compliance, and operational efficiency by managing credit note workflows, performing quality checks, and collaborating with finance, billing, and business stakeholders.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership
- Review and process credit note requests accurately and on time, in line with the Credit Note Policy.
- Approve credit notes from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
- Submit monthly credit note reports, identify trends, and escalate issues as needed.
- Ensure credit note finance provisioning is completed and submitted on schedule.
- Identify, record, and track problem management issues to minimize the issues of credit notes
- Perform monthly quality checks on credit note, reporting findings and addressing issues with relevant staff.
- Communicate credit note deadlines and manage relationships with business stakeholders.

Must have technical/professional qualifications
- Matric or Equivalent (Essential)
- A 3-year tertiary qualification minimum NQF Level 7 majoring in IT Systems/Data Analysis/Finance/Business (advantage).
Job experience
- 3 years' experience in credit note management, billing operations, and revenue assurance within a large organization, preferably in the telecommunications or financial services sector.
- 2 years' experience in project management.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, analysis, and reporting to support revenue assurance activities and executive reporting requirements.
- Experience in developing, maintaining, and updating process documentation and policies to ensure alignment with best practices and compliance requirements.
- Detailed knowledge of Siebel (advantageous).
- Experience in the telecommunications industry (advantageous).
