About The Role

Powerfleet is seeking a Senior Director, Global Collections to build and lead a global Collections Center of Excellence (CoE) across all Powerfleet entities worldwide. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for establishing global collections standards, improving cash conversion, strengthening accounts receivable health, and driving accountability across regional teams through a matrixed operating model.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this leader will partner closely with Finance, Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Revenue Operations, Treasury, and IT to improve collections performance, reduce payment delays, and implement scalable global processes. The ideal candidate combines strong collections leadership, operational discipline, data-driven decision-making, and a passion for leveraging technology and automation to improve business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Global Collections Leadership

  • Build and lead a global Collections Center of Excellence, establishing consistent standards, processes, and performance expectations across all regions.
  • Develop and implement a matrixed collections operating model, partnering with regional Finance leaders while providing functional leadership to collections teams globally.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex collections matters, high-value disputes, payment plans, service suspension decisions, and legal referrals.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Operations, Billing, and Revenue Operations leaders to align collections activities with broader business objectives.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and recommendations to the CFO and senior leadership team regarding AR health, collections performance, and cash flow risks.

Collections Strategy, Policy & Governance

  • Develop and maintain global collections policies, including contact cadence, escalation procedures, payment plan guidelines, write-off authority, and service suspension standards.
  • Ensure collections activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, internal controls, and company policies across all regions.
  • Establish and maintain global collections procedures and documentation to support consistency, scalability, and audit readiness.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance teams on service suspension processes, collections agency engagement, litigation matters, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support SOX compliance and maintain a strong control environment across collections operations.

Accounts Receivable Health & Performance Management

  • Own the global collections performance framework, including DSO, AR aging, cash collections, dispute resolution, bad debt exposure, and collector productivity metrics.
  • Develop and maintain a global AR dashboard that provides visibility into trends, risks, opportunities, and performance against targets.
  • Establish collections goals by region and entity, partnering with regional Finance leaders to drive accountability and results.
  • Partner with Finance leadership on bad debt reserve methodology, risk assessment, and audit support activities.
  • Provide Treasury and FP&A with cash collection forecasts and proactive visibility into collection risks and opportunities.

Root Cause Analysis & Cross-Functional Improvement

  • Identify and analyze the root causes of delayed payments, including billing errors, invoice delivery issues, PO mismatches, customer disputes, and process breakdowns.
  • Partner with Billing, Revenue Operations, Revenue Accounting, FP&A, and Finance Systems teams to resolve upstream issues impacting collections performance.
  • Develop structured reporting and feedback mechanisms to ensure recurring issues are identified, tracked, and resolved.
  • Monitor dispute trends and resolution timelines to improve invoice quality, customer experience, and cash flow predictability.

Technology, Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead the strategy and adoption of collections technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency, prioritization, cash application, and reporting.
  • Partner with Finance Systems and IT to ensure ERP, CRM, and reporting infrastructure supports effective collections management and decision-making.
  • Continuously evaluate collections processes, tools, and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and operational excellence.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making across the collections organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in collections, accounts receivable, credit management, or related finance functions.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing global or multi-entity collections operations.
  • Proven experience building, transforming, or centralizing a collections function in a complex organization.
  • Demonstrated success improving DSO, cash collections, AR aging, bad debt exposure, or overall cash conversion performance.
  • Experience operating within a global, matrixed environment and influencing teams across multiple regions.
  • Strong knowledge of collections processes, dispute management, payment plans, write-offs, service suspension practices, and AR controls.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, and collections platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, SAP, HighRadius, Tesorio, YayPay, or similar solutions.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience developing dashboards, reporting frameworks, and executive-level business insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, ACA, CICM, or equivalent are a plus.

Location

Flexible within a Powerfleet operating region. Ability to work effectively across multiple time zones and support a global organization is required.
