Procurement Administrator

Our client in the chemical manufacturing industry is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Procurement Administrator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, supplier relationships, inventory control, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing to support efficient operational delivery.

This role requires strong negotiation abilities, excellent supplier management experience, and the capability to maintain optimal stock levels while controlling costs and reducing excess inventory.

Supplier Management

  • Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers for consumables and materials
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve disputes
  • Ensure supplier compliance with quality and operational standards
  • Identify new suppliers and market opportunities

Purchasing & Order Management

  • Process purchase orders according to demand and stock requirements
  • Track orders to ensure timely delivery
  • Manage PO amendments, cancellations, and updates
  • Receive stock into the system accurately
  • Match purchase orders, delivery notes, GRNs, and invoices for payment processing

Inventory Control

  • Maintain optimal stock levels in collaboration with warehouse teams
  • Monitor stock rotation and expiry dates
  • Ensure proper storage of consumables according to standards

Forecasting & Planning

  • Collaborate with internal departments to forecast material requirements
  • Support supply planning to ensure consistent stock availability

Reporting & Cost Control

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
  • Compile reports on supplier performance, stock levels, and procurement activity
  • Monitor procurement spend against budget
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and conduct pricing analysis

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Diploma or Degree in Procurement / Supply Chain Management (advantageous)
  • 3–5 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or inventory management
  • Experience within Chemical manufacturing or distribution environment (advantageous)
  • Syspro ERP system experience (advantageous)
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills

Additional Requirement

  • Valid Driver’s Licence and own vehicle (non-negotiable)
