Assistant Warehouse Manager

Our client in Perishable Industry, requires the services of a Assistant Warehouse Manager

to join their team. This person will be accountable for the carrying out of all routine distribution operational tasks and staff management that impact performance in various departments.

Key performance areas

• Accountable for carrying out all routine operational tasks and staff management activities that impact departmental performance
• Oversee receiving operations to ensure the efficient handling of incoming stock
• Manage stock control processes to maintain inventory accuracy and availability
• Supervise order picking and checking activities to ensure order accuracy and timely fulfilment
• Coordinate vehicle loading and dispatch operations to support efficient distribution
• Oversee crate centre and returns processes, ensuring accurate handling and reconciliation
• Manage production activities to support operational efficiency and performance targets

The successful candidate must have

• Matric with a Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain/ Logistics/ Operations would be advantageous
• Must have at least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Must have previous experience in a warehouse environment in operations/distribution
• Must have fruit and veg product knowledge
• A thorough working knowledge of disciplinary procedures
• Excellent computer literacy (MS Office – Outlook, Word & Excel)
• Good interpersonal skills at both management and staff levels are essential
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Ability to work shifts
• Excellent track record regarding attendance at work, a consistent level of job performance and general conduct
• Must have a driver’s licence and own reliable transport
