THE ROLE

Reporting to the Human Resource Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to employee engagement, performance management and HR administration.

This role requires someone who can balance operational HR responsibilities with a genuine passion for people development, culture building and employee wellbeing.

The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic and fast-paced hospitality environment where no two days are the same.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Coordinate recruitment activities across the business
  • Draft and post job advertisements
  • Screen applications and coordinate interviews
  • Assist hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
  • Facilitate onboarding and induction programmes for new employees
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring journey

Employee Relations

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employees
  • Assist with employee queries and HR-related matters
  • Support managers with employee relations issues
  • Help foster a positive and productive working environment
  • Promote open communication and employee engagement initiatives

Performance Management

  • Assist with performance review processes
  • Support managers in setting goals and performance expectations
  • Track performance management activities and documentation
  • Assist in identifying development opportunities for employees
  • Contribute to succession planning initiatives

Learning & Development

  • Coordinate training and development initiatives
  • Identify skills development opportunities
  • Assist with employee growth and career development programmes
  • Support leadership and customer service training initiatives
  • Maintain training records and documentation

Compensation & Benefits Administration

  • Assist with payroll administration processes
  • Support employee benefits administration
  • Maintain employee records and personnel files
  • Assist with leave management and employee documentation
  • Ensure accurate HR record keeping

Compliance & HR Administration

  • Ensure compliance with labour legislation and company policies
  • Maintain employee documentation and HR records
  • Assist with policy development and implementation
  • Prepare HR reports and management information
  • Support audits and compliance-related activities
  • Ensure HR processes remain accurate, organised and up to date

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Support employee wellness and engagement initiatives
  • Assist with staff events and recognition programmes
  • Help build a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve employee satisfaction and retention

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Relevant Human Resources qualification
  • Hospitality qualification advantageous

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years HR experience in a similar role
  • Hospitality industry experience highly advantageous
  • Experience within a service-driven environment preferred
  • Exposure to recruitment, employee relations and HR administration
  • Experience supporting multiple departments and stakeholders

  • Willingness to work within a hospitality environment where flexibility is sometimes required

PACKAGE

R25,000 – R30,000 CTC per month (dependent on experience)
