Brunswick Group is looking for a talented and curious Researcher to join our global Analysis and Research Center (ARC), based in our Johannesburg (London) office. As part of ARC, you will play a critical role in supporting client-facing teams by delivering high-quality, insight-driven research. You will be joining a collaborative, global team at the heart of Brunswick’s advisory work, contributing to informed decision-making on high-stakes issues.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders on time-sensitive challenges, gaining exposure to a wide range of sectors and global developments while building expertise in research, analysis, and insight generation. Working across regions and practices, you will contribute to impactful client work and continue to develop your capabilities, including leveraging AI and data-driven approaches to shape how insight drives decision-making.

About The Role

  • Designing, conducting, and delivering high-quality, thoughtful research using a wide range of tools, including LSEG Workspace, Factiva, and other specialist sources
  • Analysing companies, industries, and key issues, including competitor benchmarking and market positioning
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis across traditional and social media
  • Extracting and synthesising insights from complex materials such as analyst reports, regulatory filings, and legal documents
  • Presenting findings clearly through concise, compelling outputs, including written summaries, charts, and visuals
  • Applying and promoting the use of internal AI tools to enhance research delivery
  • Developing and communicating robust research methodologies to address complex client challenges
  • Leading projects and managing workflows efficiently across multiple priorities
  • Monitoring and analysing emerging trends, sector developments, and global issues relevant to clients
  • Supporting business development efforts, including research for pitches and proposals
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues across the firm, anticipating needs and adding value proactively
  • Advising teams on research tools, sources, and best practices, including copyright and attribution
  • Collaborating with content providers and vendors, including supporting training and onboarding on research tools

What We're Looking For

  • 2–5 years experience in a research role, ideally in a fast-paced, client-driven professional services environment
  • A background in financial analysis is highly valued (e.g. buy-side equity analyst experience)
  • Strong interest in media, financial markets, business issues, and corporate communications
  • Solid understanding of corporate, financial, and macroeconomic concepts
  • Proven experience researching companies, analysing financials, and interpreting key corporate events
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage end-to-end projects
  • Experience or exposure to data science and AI-driven research approaches, with the ability to analyse data, leverage AI tools, and enhance insight generation through automation and advanced methodologies
  • Familiarity with research tools and platforms, including emerging AI capabilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured, high-quality outputs
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to synthesise complex information
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and contributing to client discussions.
  • Collaborative, team-orientated approach with a willingness to learn and develop

  • Experience within financial services or capital markets
  • Proficiency in additional languages
