Minimum Requirements
- CA(SA) qualification or a Senior Trust Accountant with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience
- Extensive experience in trust accounting, trust administration, and trust tax reporting
- Strong knowledge of trust tax compliance and trust structures
- Sound understanding of the Trust Property Control Act
- Experience interpreting trust deeds and wills
- Advanced knowledge of SARS trust reporting requirements and compliance obligations
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
Key Responsibilities
As the Senior Trust Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing trust administration statements and trust financial statements
- Completing trust tax computations and tax reporting requirements
- Drafting and reviewing Trust Distribution and Attribution Schedules
- Preparing and reviewing Section 7C calculations
- Managing trust accounting records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Interpreting trust deeds, wills, and trust structures to support accurate financial reporting
- Overseeing trust tax compliance and reporting obligations
- Managing SARS Third-Party Data Reporting requirements, including:
- IT3(t)
- IT3(d)
- FATCA reporting
- CRS compliance
- Providing technical guidance and trust-related expertise to internal stakeholders
- Identifying opportunities to enhance trust administration processes and client service offerings
- Delivering strategic financial insights and recommendations based on trust structures and tax considerations
- Maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance
