Management Accountant

Main Purpose of the Job

A leading manufacturing organisation within the production and supply chain sector is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting operational and strategic decision-making through accurate financial reporting, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance management across multiple operational units.

This is a high-impact role suited to a hands-on finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for

• Preparation and review of monthly management accounts

• Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across business units

• Cost accounting and production cost analysis

• Stock reconciliations and inventory control oversight

• Financial reporting to support operational decision-making

• Processing and review of alliance and operational payments

• Ensuring compliance with Income Tax, VAT, Carbon Tax, Royalty Tax, and SARS e-filing requirements

• Supporting internal and external audit processes

• Assisting with insurance-related financial reporting and claims documentation

• Conducting detailed financial analysis of factory and operational performance

• Maintaining strong financial controls and governance standards

• Ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as required by management

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Professional qualification (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) advantageous

• 5–8 years’ experience in management accounting or financial accounting

• Strong background in manufacturing or production environments (essential)

• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and stock management

• Working knowledge of ERP systems such as JD Edwards (JDE) or similar

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills

• High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and management accounting practices

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Ability to prioritise, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently

• Basic Salary: R65,000.00 per month

• Car Allowance: R9,731.00
