PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To manage the plant and the production team according to safety standards to attain production targets.
Minimum Qualifications And Requirements
- Grade 12/ STD 10 / NQF Level 4 is essential
- Chemical Engineering/Metallurgy Degree or NQF 7 Equivalent
- Minimum 5 years Metallurgical/Platinum/ Plant experience is essential
- 3-5 years Managerial position in a Processing plant environment is desirable

- Processes: Crushing, Milling, Floatation & Thickener Operations.
- Engineering Knowledge
- Metallurgical Data Interpretation
- Extractive and Pyro knowledge
- Safety Principles and Knowledge of the MHSA
- Environmental Knowledge And associated legislation.
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects)
- Financial/Commercial Skills
Key Performance Areas
- Ensures production targets are met according to plan.
- Manages and develops staff responsible for production activities.
- Manages efficiency by ensuring the best possible revenue generation in optimising production and limiting costs.
- Manages plant costs according or better than business plan.
- Manages plant safety performance according to or better than business plan.
- Manages environmental standards according to or better than legislation.
- Promotes and manages initiatives for transformation in plant.
- Identifies and recommends initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving productivity and reducing operating costs within scope and assists with the implementation thereof to contribute to the achievement of operational objectives.
- Supports and participates in change management initiatives to drive transformation and optimisation.
- Advises management on business improvements initiatives identified.
