Location: Midrand, Gauteng

24 Solutions Technology (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced and dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join its team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining health and safety policies, procedures, and compliance requirements across the organization and project sites.
The ideal candidate will have strong telecommunications industry experience, including practical knowledge of Gate 2 submissions, OWS (Online Workflow System) processes, and telecommunications health and safety compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Health and Safety policies, procedures, and systems.
- Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, near-misses, and non-conformances.
- Prepare and maintain safety files, reports, registers, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all applicable regulations.
- Facilitate safety inductions, toolbox talks, and employee training programs.
- Manage and coordinate Gate 2 submissions and related client compliance requirements.
- Administer and maintain OWS submissions and health and safety documentation.
- Support telecommunications infrastructure projects by ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
- Monitor contractor compliance and site safety requirements.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Work closely with management, employees, and clients to promote a positive safety culture.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) performance.
Minimum RequirementsQualifications
- SAMTRAC Certificate (Essential).
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Additional certifications such as Risk Assessment, Incident Investigation, First Aid, Fire Fighting, Working at Heights, and Fall Protection will be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Health and Safety Officer.
- Minimum 2 years' experience within the telecommunications industry.
- Proven experience with Gate 2 submissions and telecommunications client compliance requirements.
- Experience using and managing OWS (Online Workflow System) processes.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, workplace inspections, and safety audits.
- Experience compiling and managing safety files and project compliance documentation.
- Strong understanding of South African Occupational Health and Safety legislation and regulations.
