About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Specialist: Master Technician focused on Ford vehicles to join our team in George. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support, diagnostics, and repairs, ensuring that vehicles meet both safety and performance standards. You will leverage your extensive automotive knowledge and technical expertise to enhance customer satisfaction and uphold the reputation of our service department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting on Volkswagen vehicles utilizing manufacturer tools and systems.
  • Execute high-quality repairs and maintenance services while adhering to established procedures and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with service advisors to assess customer needs and provide accurate repair estimates and timelines.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians, sharing your knowledge and experience to foster a skilled and competent team.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate service records in compliance with company and manufacturer protocols.
  • Ensure that all work performed meets Volkswagen’s quality standards and contributes to overall service excellence.
  • Stay updated on the latest technological advancements and product updates within the required range.
  • Participate in continuous professional development through training and certification programs offered by the manufacturer.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience as a Master Technician or equivalent role, specifically within the automotive service industry.
  • Proven track record in diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical issues on various Volkswagen models.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, and electronic diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in using specialized diagnostic equipment and software, particularly those specific to Volkswagen.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • A commitment to adhering to safety protocols and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification or qualification from a recognized automotive training institution.
  • Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle technologies is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity within a workshop environment.
  • Additional qualifications in customer service or workshop management will be beneficial.
