Requirements
- Plumbing Trade Test certificate in accordance with S26D of the
Skills Development Act, Act 97 of 1998. (Red seal).
- One (1) to two (2) years post apprenticeship relevant experience.
- Grade 12 will be advantageous.
- Valid Code 10 driver’s licence with PrDP.
- Council Driving Authority will be advantageous.
- Candidates who are not in possession of the Council Driving
Authority will be required to undergo a driving assessment as
part of the Recruitment and Selection process.
- SAP literacy will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of reticulation networks and plumbing/construction
processes as well as Occupational Health and Safety Act.
o Required to be physically fit and able bodied. Must be able
to lift heavy manhole covers, carry heavy equipment, and fit
into confined spaces.
o Required to work in all weather conditions.
o Required to work standby, outside normal working hours
during emergencies and planned overtime.
o Must be prepared to enter confined areas.
Key Performance Areas
- Planned and predictive maintenance to ensure that maintenance
cycles and work procedures are implemented.
- Ensure that networks are installed, operated, maintained, and
repaired according to safe work procedures enabling
uninterrupted and optimum functionality of the distribution/
conveyance systems.
- Fault-finding to ensure faults are detected, effectively repaired and
functionality restored with minimal disruption to services.
- Supervision and administration to ensure that tasks, instructions,
and findings are coordinated, communicated, and understood.
- Capturing information to ensure details of activities are accurately
recorded.
- Ensure details of activities are accurately recorded to facilitate the
processing of information related to productivity personnel, time
and material allocation and utilisation for specific assignments.
