We are searching for an experienced IT Technician at our Centurion facility.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Job Purpose
Hardware and software support for all contract and adhoc clients.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support
- Set up computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.) as well as configure appropriate software and functions according to specs.
- Evaluate network performance issues, including availability throughput, and latency, and then define and implement appropriate network policies and procedures.
- Upgrade operating systems, applications, and other system components as needed based on vendor recommendations and testing and in line with company policies.
- Engage in regular troubleshooting activities, resolve problems and connectivity issues, and mitigate operational risks.
- Provide general end user IT support to office staff as well as field staff.
- Ensure clients and Team are regularly updated on progress of Tickets.
- Provide administrative support services for desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, telephones, smartphones, application deployment, and security updates.
- Make sure all IT equipment is added to Asset Register and updated.
IT Support
- Mobile Device Support. (Procure, Setup & Remote Support)
- Network support. (Install, Troubleshoot & Maintain)
- Office 365 Administration.
- Printing/Scanning support (IP printing, shared network printing, local printers etc)
- Connectivity support (3G/LTE/Fibre/wireless APs etc)
- Collections and Deliveries of Hardware, software, printer consumables.
- Logging of all queries via the online Help Desk System.
- Ensure that backups are setup and running.
- Liaising with Service Providers for setup & troubleshooting purposes of various field applications.
- Research & Development (Explore new Technologies which could benefit the company)
- Local support and Preventative Maintenance at remote project offices. (Will require traveling & sleepover)
- Provide on-call and weekend support (when required)

Office 365 Account Setup & Management
- Applies elementary concepts of knowledge / skill to develop activities assigned under supervision
SharePoint Site development and management
- Applies elementary concepts of knowledge / skill to develop activities assigned under supervision
User Role Management & Mailbox Rules
- Applies elementary concepts of knowledge / skill to develop activities assigned under supervision

Reporting, Record Keeping & Asset Management
- Works under supervision at an elementary level to create relevant, lucid and effective reports.

Education & Experience
- Matric Certificate
- 1 - 2 years of experience as a help desk technician or similar role
Preferred Candidate Must Have
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- A+ and N+ as a minimum. Security+ will be a bonus.
- Be willing to travel to remote sites and sleep over if/when required.
- Practical experience troubleshooting computer, printer, mobile and network
