About The Role

A well-established organisation within the industrial and services sector is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented

Buyer to join its Procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, supplier sourcing, quotation processes, purchase order management, and ensuring that goods and services are procured at the best possible price and quality while complying with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide procurement support to the operational division in accordance with company procurement procedures.
  • Manage and coordinate Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes.
  • Source products and services from approved suppliers.
  • Participate in supplier selection and vendor evaluation processes.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve best value.
  • Ensure all purchases align with approved order requests and company requirements.
  • Process purchase orders accurately and timeously within the ERP system.
  • Ensure all orders receive the required approvals before processing.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and potential delays.
  • Maintain approved supplier databases and vendor records.
  • Ensure compliance with contract management procedures and procurement policies.
  • Monitor procurement savings initiatives and departmental KPIs.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and filing systems.
  • Build and maintain professional supplier relationships.
  • Support continuous improvement within the procurement function.

Minimum Requirements

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' procurement or buying experience.
  • Experience managing RFQs, purchase orders, supplier negotiations, and procurement administration.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and Word (or equivalent platforms).
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Sage, or similar ERP systems will be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
