POSITION INFO
A leading multi-entity organisation operating across the construction, engineering, and built environment professional services sector is seeking an experienced
Head of Human Resources to join its Executive Leadership Team in Johannesburg.
This is a senior strategic leadership role within a complex, high-performance environment spanning site-based operations, engineering teams, and corporate functions across multiple business units.

Requirements
- Senior HR leadership experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or similarly complex operational environments
- Strong background in labour relations, organisational design, workforce planning, and HR governance
- Proven experience operating within multi-site or group structures
- Strong command of South African labour legislation, BBBEE, and Employment Equity frameworks
- Executive presence with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Full accountability for the group HR function, including:
- Talent acquisition
- Performance management
- Compensation, benefits & payroll oversight
- Learning & development
- Organisational development
- Lead all labour and employee relations activities, including disciplinary processes, grievances, CCMA representation, union engagement, and restructuring
- Ensure full statutory compliance across BBBEE, Employment Equity, COIDA, UIF, POPIA, and labour legislation
- Develop and maintain group-wide HR policies, frameworks, and governance structures
- Drive learning and development strategies aligned to SETA requirements, including skills development and leadership pipelines
- Oversee onboarding, offboarding, engagement, succession planning, and HR analytics reporting to executive leadership
