The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s commercial operations, ensuring profitability, contract compliance, and strategic alignment. This role combines strong commercial acumen with high-level administrative and organizational skills, ensuring that all commercial processes, documentation, and reporting are executed efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management
- Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company objectives
- Manage client contracts, pricing structures, and negotiations
- Monitor revenue, margins, and cost control to maximize profitability
- Identify business growth opportunities and new revenue streams
- Analyze market trends and provide strategic recommendations
Contract & Compliance Management
- Draft, review, and manage contracts, agreements, and SLAs
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements
- Maintain accurate contract records and documentation
- Oversee risk assessment and mitigation related to commercial agreements
High-Level Administration
- Manage all commercial documentation, reporting, and record-keeping systems
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all administrative processes
- Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and presentations
- Coordinate internal processes across departments (Finance, Operations, Sales)
- Maintain and improve administrative systems and workflows
Financial Oversight
- Work closely with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
- Review pricing models and profitability reports
- Monitor financial performance against targets
- Ensure accurate billing, invoicing, and revenue tracking
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Act as a liaison between internal departments and external partners
- Support negotiations and dispute resolution
Team Leadership (if applicable)
- Lead and mentor administrative or commercial staff
- Allocate workloads and ensure team efficiency
- Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Key Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Contract management and compliance knowledge
- Experience with ERP/CRM systems (advantageous)

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in a commercial or administrative management role
- Proven experience in contract and financial management
- Demonstrated high-level administrative capability

- Experience in manufacturing / production environments
- Knowledge of South African commercial regulations
- Project management experience
